
Janice Mayer, PA-C Physician Assistant
Janice Mayer, PA-C, joined Desert Orthopedic Center following matriculation from South University in Savannah, GA, where she graduated with high honors and received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS). Janice also holds a Master of Science in Medical Physiology (MSMP) from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH). She completed her undergraduate coursework at Colgate University (Hamilton, NY) with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Janice is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. Her background includes orthopedic research on shoulder and upper extremities at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute. She has been published in multiple orthopedic journals. Her clinical training included rotations in emergency medicine, general surgery, family medicine, and orthopedic surgery at Optim Orthopedics. At DOC she works with Dr. Ghassan Boghosian and assists with a variety of orthopedic surgeries, focusing on adult primary and revision joint replacements of the hip and knee. Janice is board-certified by the NCCPA (National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants). She is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She is certified in Basic Life Support. Janice spends all of her free time with her husband and two sons—biking, playing tennis, visiting the zoo, and exploring playgrounds.
