Dr. Hansel Ihn is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in treating pediatric and adult sports injuries. He grew up in La Crescenta, California, graduated from UC Berkeley, and earned his M.D. from UC Irvine. Dr. Ihn completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Los Angeles General Medical Center and Keck Hospital of USC. He furthered his training with a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Utah, during which he served as an Assistant NBA Team Physician for the Utah Jazz and Assistant Team Physician for the University of Utah Utes (NCAA Div. 1 football and basketball).
Dr. Ihn specializes in shoulder, hip, and knee procedures, including rotator cuff repair, hip arthroscopy, and knee ligament reconstruction.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ihn has presented and published numerous scientific articles. His research interests include biomechanics, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), ligamentous injury, and the management of rotator cuff tears.
