David Christian, M.D. Hip & Knee Reconstruction
My mission is to restore mobility, relieve pain, and help patients return to active lives. I treat every patient as I would a member of my own family—developing individualized care plans that prioritize non-surgical options and use surgery only when necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes.
David Christian, MD is a Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon, fellowship-trained in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction. He specializes in primary, partial, and revision joint replacement of the hip and knee and sees patients at Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center.
After earning his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Dr. Christian completed his orthopedic surgery residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago. He then pursued advanced training through an Adult Reconstructive Hip and Knee Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, where he gained expertise in direct anterior total hip arthroplasty and minimally invasive, muscle-sparing surgical techniques.
From an early age, Dr. Christian’s passion for science and community service inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. While initially interested in sports medicine, his residency experience drew him to joint replacement because of its transformative impact on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and helping patients return to active lifestyles.
Dr. Christian treats every patient as if they were a member of his own family. He develops individualized treatment plans with a strong emphasis on maximizing non-surgical options first, turning to surgery only when necessary. His goal is always to restore function and relieve pain as quickly and completely as possible, improving each patient’s quality of life.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Christian is dedicated to research and education. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of residency and was honored with the Brian Hartigan, MD Memorial Award for compassionate care, clinical excellence, and dedication to teaching. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, with his work presented at national orthopedic meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).
Outside of medicine, Dr. Christian enjoys golfing and is an avid sports fan.
