Carolina Montoya, PA-CPhysician Assistant

I feel incredibly fortunate to care for others as a Physician Assistant. Providing evidence-based care that supports healing and helps patients regain strength, mobility, and quality of life is deeply meaningful to me.

Carolina Montoya, PA-C, joined Desert Orthopedic Center after earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from the University of the Pacific. She brings a strong academic foundation and diverse clinical training to her role, with a focused interest in orthopedic medicine and surgical care.

During her training, Carolina gained valuable experience working with diverse patient populations and developed a strong commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care. Her clinical training as a Physician Assistant included rotations in orthopedics, women’s health, primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, behavioral health, and pediatrics, with a particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine and surgical care.

At Desert Orthopedic Center, Carolina works closely with the orthopedic team to provide care both in the clinic and the operating room. She is involved in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions, assisting with surgical procedures, and supporting patients throughout their recovery. Her clinical focus includes total joint care, helping patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and return to their daily activities.

Carolina is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA). She is committed to delivering evidence-based orthopedic care and ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Originally from Los Angeles, Carolina enjoys camping and hiking in her free time and has a strong appreciation for architecture, particularly organic modernism. An avid animal lover, she cherishes spending time with her two dogs, Harry, a Shih Tzu, and Lucky, a Chiweenie.
