Jeffrey D. Kohfeld has 20 years of experience in the medical field, steadily advancing his credentials over that time. He joined Desert Orthopedic Center as a Physician Assistant in 2003 and works with Dr. Rufus Gore in general orthopedics and sports injuries.
“I like to spend my day helping others,” he comments. Among his work with Dr. Gore involves treating children and adults with a variety of orthopedic concerns including fractures and back and joint pain.
Jeffrey grew up in Downey, CA and joined the military at age 17. After serving as
in a variety of capacities in the U.S. Air Force for eight years, he enrolled in the Riverside Community College Physician Assistant Program and graduated in 2000. He presented a lecture and case study on “The Treatment of Osteomyelitis” to the Riverside Community College Physician Assistant Program. His academic efforts there earned him a Certificate of Academic Achievement.
Prior to joining Desert Orthopedic Center, he worked as a Physician Assistant at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital Arthritis Institute. Before that he briefly worked at STAT Urgent Care in Palm Desert, providing emergency, pediatric and general medical care. Previously, he served as an orthotic and prosthetic technician for three and a half years. His career experience also includes work as an Emergency Medical Technician and Surgical Technician.
He is a member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants.
