  Kevin Keunwoong Lee, M.D., is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and general orthopedist. He joined Desert Orthopedic Center in, 2003. Dr. Lee was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. From a very early age, Dr. Lee, wanted to become a doctor, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle, who were well-respected physicians in Korea.

Dr. Lee attended the College of Arts and Sciences of Seoul National University and earned his medical degree from Seoul National University Medical School, prior to serving his country as a Medical Officer in the Air Force, treating servicemen, many having sustained multiple injuries. After three years in the service, Dr. Lee moved to the United States to further his education in orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Lee served his internship at Fairview General Hospital and his residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He then went on to join the University MedNet Clinic where he served as Chief of the MedNet Orthopedic Department. Dr. Lee served as a faculty member at Case Western University Medical School during his 27 year career as a general orthopedic surgeon with MedNet.

“ Orthopedic surgery is a fascinating medical field”, Dr. Lee comments. “It is my joy to see a patient improving and enjoying a more comfortable and productive life after the appropriate treatment.” Dr. Lee specializes in total hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as arthroscopic surgery and treatment of fractures.

Outside of medicine, music is an integral part of Dr. Lee’s life and family. “Playing the piano is most relaxing after a busy day of orthopedics”, he states. Dr. Lee served as Choir Director for the past 25 years at the Presbyterian Church in Cleveland. Dr. Lee’s wife, Christine, plays violin, as do their three sons. One of Dr. Lee’s sons is also a physician, following in the family tradition.

Dr. Lee is board certified with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, California Medical Association and Riverside County Medical Association.
